Luxury Stays in Oman – A Personal Invitation
Oman has a way of surprising you. One morning you are watching the sun hit the mountains, and by afternoon, you dip your toes in a calm, turquoise sea. And through it all, the hotels here don’t just offer comfort – they feel like someone has rolled out a welcome mat, ready to share the country’s beauty with you.
Crowne Plaza Muscat OCEC, a business Hotel and earned now 5 stars, is where the city meets calm. Located next to the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre and just 10 minutes (around 10 km) from Muscat International Airport, it’s perfect for both business and leisure travelers. Take a slow walk through the garden lawn, where the scent of flowers mingled with the evening breeze and enjoy the poolside, perfect for a late swim or a coffee as the sun dipped below the horizon. And the food? Mosaic’s very rich breakfast buffet made it easy to linger, while Charm Thai give you flavors you didn’t expect to find in Muscat.

Alila Jabal Akhdar: A Mountain Paradise
High in the Al Hajar Mountains, Alila Jabal Akhdar made us feel like we stepped into another world. About 3 hours’ drive (roughly 200 km) from Muscat, the air is cool and crisp, and every time I looked out over the canyon, it felt endless. We spent mornings hiking with our local guide and friend Mohammed from Nizwa along trails past terraced farms and rose gardens, and evenings enjoyed the balcony with a cup of tea, watching the light shift across the cliffs. The spa there is small and intimate, with treatments inspired by local traditions — a quiet way to slow down after a day of exploration.

Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar
Not far from Alila, Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar sits, hugging the cliffs of the Saiq Plateau. Also around 2 hours’ drive from Muscat, the resort offers panoramic canyon views and cool mountain air. The infinity pool is something you have to see. You can spent nearly hours just floating and staring at the canyon below. The villas are private and cozy, with every little detail thoughtfully placed. Dining here feels like a personal experience, whether having breakfast with the sun spilling over the mountains or enjoying a quiet dinner under the stars.

The Chedi Muscat: A Beachfront Sanctuary
Down by the coast of Muscat, The Chedi offers a completely different rhythm. About 30 minutes (30 km) from Muscat International Airport and 25 km from the city center, it opens directly onto a private beach. Walking along the sand, we could hear only the waves and the soft calls of seabirds. The architecture is simple but elegant, and it somehow made the ocean feel even more endless. Mornings were spent swimming in the long pool, afternoons reading under the palm trees, and evenings enjoying seafood fresh from the Gulf — every detail felt relaxed, never rushed.
