After our photo safari in Dubai, with great shots of Anne Dohmen, a great photographer lady with a focus on architectural photography, we are now on an adventure trip to beautiful “Oman”.
As a passionate hobby photographer, I was really happy when Anne booked me as a guide 8 years ago to show her my Arab world.
Since I know on my own, rushing as a photographer is an absolutely No-Go. I’vent planned anything else that day and spend with her all my time. Great pictures and a great time, which is still memorising till today, were the result.

Since my time, the last years in Oman i’m wondering day by day about its beauty and special safety and hospitality which i enjoy here as a women in an Arab country.
My love for photography and the country let me discuss with many of my friends and photographers and we decide to start a project with a value to each single person book this tour.

Toms Short biography:
Tom Ang is a leading authority on digital photography, a photographer, author, educator, TV broadcaster, and traveller. He won the Thomas Cook award for Best Illustrated Travel Book for his photography of the Marco Polo Expedition that pioneered the modern Silk Road crossing from Europe to China. He has worked as a magazine editor, picture editor, technical journalist, has exhibited internationally and was a university senior lecturer in photography for twelve years. Amongst his 30+ books on photography is the best-selling ‘Digital Photographer’s Handbook’ which has sold over half a million copies and has been translated into twenty languages, the award-winning ‘Digital Photography Masterclass’ and ‘Photography – the definitive visual history’. He was presenter for two 6-part BBC series on digital photography and for an award-winning 8-part photography series for Channel News Asia, Singapore. As an international photography juror, he has judged for World Photography Award, Hamdan International Photography Award, Wildlife Photographer of the Year, and other awards. He is Sony Digital Image Ambassador for New Zealand. He lives and works from New Zealand.

A photo tour for single traveller, joining a small group of photographers, or with the option to add our professional photographer TOM ANG to our group.
The special thing is, we plan our journeys with the moon: if the moon does not appear or only with less visibility in the sky, wonderful night shots are possible and sometimes even the Milkyway appears and can be photographed.

Our program:
Day 1
-Arrival in Muscat (flight not included)
-Transfer and overnight at a city or beach hotel as by your wish
Day 2
-Breakfast in your hotel
-Visit the Sultan Qaboos Mosque
-Real traditional experience – fish market
-At the Matrah Souq / Muttrah souk – handwork and incenses
-Drive over the mountains to Nizwa
-Overnight in Nizwa a traditional hotel
Please pay attention to the dress code for the mosque:
Men: long trousers and shirt, not shoulder-free
Women: headscarf, long sleeve shirt, long trousers or skirt
Day 3:
-Early bird’s day in Nizwa – 6 o’clock start
-The highlight, the popular cattle-market, where locals sell their Goats, cows, sheeps, pigeons and chicken
-Experience the colorful hustle and bustle of Nizwa Souk / Market and try some traditional delicacies
-Breakfast in the hotel
-Drive to Jebel Akhdar “green mountain”, photoshoot at the Birkat Al Mauz – a real ghost town
-Lunch in a local restaurant
-From Diana’s view point on the Sayq Plateau enjoy the view and explore some fossils
-Overnight at the Anantara
Day 4:
-Cozy breakfast in the hotel
-Experience the century old tradition of the mountain village Misfat Al Abreen, surrounded by lovely Falaj oases
-The Bahla Fort, visit with its rich history
-Offroad drive to the “Grand Canyon” of the Oman at the Jabal Shams
-Dinner and overnight at Sunrise Resort or similar
Day 5:
-Awaking breakfast at your hotel
-Sinow market, unique opportunity to capture impressive faces
-Travel through diverse landscapes on mountain roads to the enchanting dunes of the desert
-Visit the ancient ruins in Ibra
-Animal-farm visit with lunch with our bedouin friends
-Drive into the color-changing dunes for the sunset
-Dinner and overnight at the Bedouins tent Camp
Day 6:
-Breakfast at the camp
-Refreshing swimming in the mountain lake of the Oasis Wadi Bani Khalid with lunch
-Ride a desert-ship ride to the sunset in the dunes of the Sharqiyah Sands.
-After Dinner Stargazing in Wahiba Sands with at night-drive deep into the desert to capture the stars & milky-way
-Overnight stay under the canopy of stars or in the Starwatching Private Camp
Day 7:
-Camel race watch and traditional market at 6 o’clock in the morning – picknick breakfast
-4 hours 148 km Desert crossing direction north to the sea with stop at the school in the desert
-Lunch with our bedouinsBed in the middle of the desert
-Refreshing bathing in clear sea water
-Ras AL Hadd Turtle Beach – watch turtles at egg laying – overnight at Turtle Beach Hotel
Day 8:
-Final breakfast together
-Enjoy the scent of processed wood while visiting the Dhow shipyard in Sur
-Return via the coast line to Muscat and swim in Wadi Tiwi
-Drop off at Airport or Hotel if you extend your stay (extra night bookable)
