Day 3

Today, we set off from Muscat towards Jebel Akhdar mountain, also known as the “Fruits Garden of Oman” and our Rose harvesting highlight.

The Arabic name of the mountain means “green,” which is a reference to the fertile terraced fields on its steep slopes due to frequent rainfall. Despite the altitude of 2000m, the Mediterranean climate provides ideal conditions for growing crops like olives, almonds, dates, bananas, apricots, pomegranates, and figs.

We will visit an old rose destillery where you can see old traditional ways to destill the valuable rosewater. Smells again all around you.

We’ll explore the ruins of Birkat Al Mauz village, which features historic mud houses washed out by rain.

After we visit Banana Lake, a fertile oasis with a poetic name. A traditional Omani lunch with a local family awaits us, promising a unique experience. Later, depending on the program, we’ll check in to our traditional hotel in Nizwa for the night.

Our stay in Nizwa includes breakfast.

It is always historic and photogenic to observe this activity up close. We’ll continue to be immersed in the magic of these souks, and we will walk along colorful streets. See the halwa and some of the oriental specialties! The fort in Nizwa is also on the schedule, an opportunity to take great pictures! We’ll continue on our tour to Jebel Shams at the highest plateau. We drive through the Wadi Ghul and relax while hiking through the old mountain village of Misfat al Abreen, the Jabrin Palace, and the Bahla Fortress.

An intense, eventful day!!

Day 5

Today after breakfast, we’ll be heading to Wadi Bani Khaled to swim and relax in a beautiful natural mountain pool. Everyone is welcome to walk, take a dip, or simply unwind in this stunning location. Later on, we’ll embark on a desert excursion to the Wahiba Sands, where you’ll see beautiful dunes that change their colors during the sunset time.

We’ll spend the night at the Starwatching Private camp, nestled in the heart of the desert. You’ll get to enjoy the breathtaking starry sky that blankets the area.

Witness the awe-inspiring sunrise over the desert and savor a breakfast infused with the essence of the desert. Our expedition will then take us on a journey to explore the daily routine of Bedouin families and their strikingly unique desert lifestyle. We’ll be treated to a special lunch by a warm and hospitable Omani family at their animal farm, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the Omani culture and hospitality by relishing a traditional Bedouin meal.

Afternoon we  drive to our Bedouin family friend’s house in the middle of the desert and experience the sunset on a camel

Pure emotions, and once again, the opportunity to take wonderful photos…

Overnight stay and dinner in a typical Bedouin camp with an authentic atmosphere around the campfire with the Bedouins. Of course, part of the desert experience is that we experience the sunset camel ride to the highest dunes.

Overnight stay in a Bedouin tent (with beds) or if you want in a “high-bed”, open air under the stars”.

Experience the flavours of omani cusine and typical bedouin spices in a cooking class

Day 7

Today, you have the chance to discover how the Bedouins explore animals and experience the desert in a unique way.

One of the most exciting activities during your time in the desert is the Animal Trekking tour (1.5 hours) with Badar, an animal guide in Oman, early in the morning. You will be amazed by the amount of animal life that exists in the desert and we hope to spot many different creatures together. This experience is definitely the highlight of your trip! You will also have the opportunity to experience the Bedouins’ hospitality and charm once again while visiting a mobile camp in the desert near the sea.

During the tour, there will be plenty of chances to take special snapshots of the beautiful scenery and photogenic motifs. As part of the Bedouin family, you will learn, feel, and explore a lot. This is a chance to leave Europe behind and immerse yourself in their way of life.

Another exceptional experience is attending the Omani dinner with a Bedouin bread-baking ceremony in the hot sand.

Finally, spending the night in a tent camp at Sugar Dunes is an emotional experience, with only the stars as your witness.

Day 8

The day starts with a traditional Omani breakfast in the middle of the desert and then passes the desert to the sea, which is very close. You’ll experience a gentle sea breeze, lukewarm bathing water, and, as always, great photo opportunities after the heat of the desert. Today we drive to the Alashkhara Beach Resort and enjoy a “sea flair” dinner/overnight stay/breakfast in the resort, which is located right next to the sea.

Day 9

Today, we will be heading to the Turtle Beach Hotel, which is a beautiful resort that offers the opportunity to enjoy a swim or a leisurely walk on the beach. Tomorrow morning, we will embark on a guided tour to Ras al Jinz beach with the hope of witnessing the fascinating sight of sea turtles laying their eggs. With a bit of luck, we may also catch a glimpse of newly hatched turtles making their way towards the sea. We will be spending the night at the Turtle Beach Hotel, where dinner and breakfast will be provided.

Day 10

After a rich breakfast, our tour continues to see the lovely city of Sur and for a walk in the green oases into Wadi Tiwi, always an adventure.

Sur was the small fisher village where the famous dhows were built. Visit the shipyards. If time permits, we will also pay a visit to the Wadi Sinkhole before we start the journey back to Muscat. Overnight stay/breakfast at the Crown Plaza Hotel Muscat.

Day 11

And we’re going to have another exciting day with a tour of the surrounding area. We’ll head to the fish market in Barka this time and, now fully prepared, we’ll be immersed in the chaotic trading environment. It’s going to be a lot of fun discovering all these things, and great opportunities for photos. And then we’ll head up into the mountains to Rustq, where there are hot springs. Relax as your legs get pampered by the cleaner fish. Stay at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Muscat overnight and breakfast.

Be enchanted by the magic of Oman, a country that has been able to retain its old South Arab charm. We know all the stories of Sinbad, the sailor, the Queen of Sheba, and other legendary known names, let’s explore like them, the history of the country and the tail of the Frankincense Route.

Oman is the absolute shooting star in the Orient and a “dream travel destination”. Here the sun shines with the gold – a highly polished treasure trove of Arabic culture. And yet so fascinatingly authentic – mosques, camels, incense market, and gold souk. And all of the great hospitality of the Omani people need not to be forgotten. Experience a wonderful journey of discovery – get up close with the locals, experience nature and wildlife, and the most beautiful local places with a look beyond the scenes.

Dip yourself in the world of real Arabs and get to know the Bedouins up close. We have been traveling in Oman for years and guests on our tours benefit from the intensive contact with the country and its people.

Be inspired by a sultanate that couldn’t be more diverse.

What everyone should pack is a large dose of curiosity! Because curiosity means openness.
